Here are some stats on my Corvette:

I have owned this car for 27 years. I finished a 13 year frame off project last June 2004. I did most of the work myself to include all the body work, mechanical and interior (seats were done by Rick's Upholstery of Bellevue, Nebraska). The paint was done by Tincher Auto in Plattsmouth, Nebraska. The front end is modified somewhat to incorporate the headlights in the grill with a shark mouth appearance eliminating the 3 part grill and pop up headlights. The engine (original number matching 427ci/390hp) has been modified with a bore of .070 over. The engine has a Eagle crank with h-beam rods with a 4.25 inch stroke giving the engine a total of 498 cubic inches. The engine heads (cast iron) have larger stainless steel valves (2.25-intake/1.88-exhaust) with a compression ratio of 10 to one. A Competition Cams roller cam with hydraulic roller lifters and steel roller tip rockers give the engine 505 hp at the crank on premium pump gas with 600 pounds of torque. Carburetor is a 725 Demon double pumper. Engine cooling is by an aluminum radiator (Be Cool) with an electric fan. The engine was built by Chuck Willard (WAM) of Omaha, Nebraska. Exhaust are Hooker headers with sidepipes that have been aluminized coated. Rear end is original with a stock ratio of 3:55 to one. The four speed is original equipment Muncie. All rubber bushings have been replaced with polyurethane. Front springs are rated at 550 pounds and the rear fiberglass spring at 360 pounds. Off set trailing arms, KYB gas shocks and a 1.25 inch diameter sway bar in the front with a 7/8 inch diameter sway in the rear from Vette Brakes. The car handles extremely well for having a 427 cast iron motor. I work at Mid America Motorplex (www.midamericamotorplex.com) in Iowa and get to play with my Vette there.
