This is the third Corvette I have owned but the most modern one. It is also the only car I have bought in my entire life that I didn't test drive first!! To walk into a room completely filled with Corvettes in almost pristine condition gives one a level of immediate trust and appreciation that can't be found in most dealerships. Everyone who sees my car, at first thinks that it is new, and then, after showing them the spotless inside and engine compartment, I show them the speedometer, then I tell them that it's a 2000! I got the car from you with less than 12,000 miles on it and just rolled 12,370 on it today. I've taken it on super highways, winding country roads, stop and go traffic, in the rain and so forth and can truly say that with the manual shift, you truly get a great driving experience with this Corvette. I had manual shift in my other Corvettes and saw no reason to change now. I will say this, I won't be like the previous owner, I intend to put more than 1000 miles a year on this car because I love driving it, being in it, listening to it. It was and is the perfect vehicle for me--tho I'm sure it could be a show car I just want to enjoy it for the great ride that it is. At the age of almost 70, I want all of the good experiences I can squeeze in before my "kids" take my car keys away from me (actually, they just want the car). I love your no pressure approach, your desire to educate and your willingness to accommodate. I recently took the Corvette to my mechanic for a mandatory Maryland state inspection. My mechanic races Corvettes and BMWs, and I trust him with my Mercedes-Benz and my Jaguar. His comment was that it appears that a rear axle seal had a problem at one time as evidenced by some spotting on the exhaust, and was repaired properly. He also commented that it was literally a brand new car and was extremely nice condition. I'm getting used to the stares of other motorists and my neighbors as they gawk at the Corvette. This car is exceptional. Next time I shop for another Corvette, I know that your dealership will be the first place I go. Thank you for such wonderful service and such a nice Corvette. Good morning Roger, David Jr. and all the fantastic people of Rogers Corvette Center, OH MY GOD!!!!!! I have driven close to 700,000 miles in my 32 years of on the road experience. Never have I driven a more fun or relaxed 530 miles in my life. What a joy to drive. My mother's 500SL could take lessons from this car on not only how to handle, but on how to deal with the many road conditions we are dealt with in our daily trips down the highway. Simply unbelievable. I thought her car had power, this thing is unreal. You have to pay close attention to the speedometer, before you know it, your 25 mph above the speed limit. I had heard about the gas mileage, just like a Harley, you don't buy a vehicle like this for fuel economy, but I got 28.4 mpg on the way home. It makes putting high test in it a whole lot less painful. I ordered the painted GM spoiler, colored door handles, door sill upgrades and protectors, and this and that, lets just say the order total came to $2000.00. Money well spent. I got home about 9pm and spent 4 hours in the garage just looking at it. Still hard to believe it really has happened. But, you folks are the greatest. If, and I probably will, buy another down the road, I'm coming to Orlando, sorry Roger, you will have to put up with me again. Today the National Corvette Museum has selected our 98 Aztec Gold Corvette that is sequence #1 of just 15 prototypes built to be displayed in the Museum for a year. They told me that Museum display committee selected just two cars out of 50 that applied to be displayed for a year. The odds of getting your Corvette in the Museum is similar to hitting the lottery especially during the year that the National Corvette Caravan will converge there with 12,000+ Corvettes Labor Day weekend. Janet and I are going to the National Council of Corvette Clubs award banquet in Orlando on the 14th to receive the 1st place award for Concours F Prepared - Florida Region. NCCC concours class car show classes are probably the toughest judging of Corvettes in the country. From there we are going on to the National Corvette Museum in our 01 Quicksilver Vette to install the tabletops we did for the Museum Corvette Cafe. When you buy a Vette you don't get just the greatest car on earth, it also comes with a lifestyle. Please don't think we are a little over excited just believe WE ARE !!!!! Plus I don't have to detail it for car shows every week for a year, unless Janet makes me do the other Vette??????????
